Public Auction/Private Purchases. Whether a client is new to the industry or a current participant, Shawn can assist him or her in the purchase or sale of horses at public auction or private sales.
Stallion Prospects. Shawn has assisted in building strong stallion rosters for clients throughout the United States and internationally.
Shawn’s bloodstock agent career began in 2000, when a chance encounter provided him an opportunity to work for Taylor Made Sales Agency, the world’s leading Thoroughbred consignor and sales agency. Shawn’s strong work ethic and warm personality made a positive impression on the owners of Taylor Made and their clientele. He was quickly promoted to head of RNA sales, one of the most challenging positions in the industry as it requires selling horses that did not meet their reserve pricing in the auction ring.
Through the countless hours and intense training that working for Taylor Made required, Shawn was able to launch his own bloodstock agency, Mare Solutions, in 2007.
Shawn also hosts Talk of the Track, a website featuring videos about Thoroughbred race horses, with fellow racing enthusiast Bill Rush. Talk of the Track strives to help people learn about and become involved in the racing industry.
Shawn’s genuine love of horses combined with his superior ability to evaluate the physical stature and bloodlines of Thoroughbreds has proven to be the key to his success. Shawn has helped bring Thoroughbred buyers, sellers, and breeders together, delivering equine dreams at the highest level.
